Christopher Peter Meloni, an American actor best known for his character on the television show 'Law & Order Special Victims Unit. At the age of 18, he began to pursue a passion for acting. At the University of Colorado at Boulder where he enrolled in the acting program. He's appeared in TV and films, however it was his smaller-screen roles that made him famous and earned him huge fan following. His ability to portray characters on both sides of law is a draw for audiences. The first show he worked on was a television show, but he later played the role of a NYPD detective. He's been nominated many times for the prestigious Emmy Awards and the PRISM Awards for his smaller screen performance. Eyes that are piercing blue on his face are considered to be the most appealing feature. These are also regarded as a trademark, and are credited as helping him to portray characters that were tough but empathetic. People's magazine listed him as one of the Sexiest Men Alive for 2006.
